Looking Back...

I know, I know. I'm late but I've finally finished working through all that was captured at Lollapalooza this year and have rounded out the individual photo galleries for the PlacesParallel Photobucket. Several of the pictures are still frames from video while recording the large side stage screens so I apologize for the less than stellar quality but I still think they're worth a looksie.

A few favorites (coincidentally also my favorite acts of the weekend):

Jamie Lidell

Rage Against the Machine

Saul Williams

Nine Inch Nails

Now in searching through all this footage I found a...let's say..."interesting" bit in a video clip Mr. Iris captured. Without further ado:

It's okay, Trent. We still love you. Even if this is the gayest thing I've ever seen.

Oh, and seriously, you all owe me; you must devote 47 seconds of your life to watching this.

I can't bite my fist about it anywhere else.

Anonymous, I think I love you.

DA? Is that you?

When is that documentary coming out, JR? I might watch it just to try and figure out what the hell the draw is to those guys. I don't think I've heard of a single band they've mentioned other than Dino Jr, but that's just because of you.

Speaking fist biting news...I squeaked a little bit when I saw that Saul Williams replied to a comment I made on his messageboard about our review here. Remember Maise told him that we would write a rave review that no one would read but apparently Saul did.

Check it out!

Mine is about halfway down the page and his response to two past me. It's just a short bit but I still feel pretty chuffed about it. At first I thought it was a just a general thank you to everyone posting reviews (and I suppose it still could be but I'm not going to check other show threads) but then I noticed we're the only ones on the page linking to a blog. So thanks Saul! :D

Wow, Iris, Saul totally reads! Cool!

As for what I've linked to...holy crap, Iris, the Fort Apache recording studio was SUCH a big deal in the 80s and 90s, to me and anyone else that likes indie music. I'll have to make you a mix tape, or you could buy this.

It's totally true, as said in the clip, that Fort Apache changed everything. Everything!

I also have a muse there.

As for the film--I don't know what the status of it is, meaning that I don't know when/if it will come out. It's played once or twice, in Boston of course, but I don't think they've got a distribution deal.

Never have I been as proud of my skippy-Trent doodle as after watching that video
since now it's relevant and all.

(also hi guys I'm not dead)

You know after I finally stopped laughing and picked myself up off the floor, I thought of your "skippy-Trent" picture. It's impossible to watch that and not burst into a fit of giggles.

LOL

Off topic:

Billy Corgan is now officially a douchebag in my eyes.

A little snippet from an interview:

LA Times: What has been Smashing Pumpkins fan reaction toward the use of the song in the trailer?

BC: My fans seem to be confused when the outside world appreciates our work, so I can only imagine this terrifies them.

...gay...

Just you wait until Maise gets back. Billy has been losing ground with her for a while now.

Do you have a link to the rest of the article? I'm sure I'd be able to find it with Google in about two minutes but internet access is kind of restricted to my phone for now.

Sorry, it took me a little while to get back to you.

Here's the link.

Admittedly, the song is pretty spiffy and I got tingles watching the Watchmen trailer. But, still, the attitude... bleh....

Wow! This song meshes so well with the trailer which I had missed when we went to watch "The Dark Knight". The song on it's own is nice and dark and brooding. I don't usually like Smashing Pumpkins because Billy's voice just grates on my nerves. But this is good.

As for the movie...it looks intriguing but I'm not much of a comic book girl. DA? Care to fill us in? I'm sure you know the story.

Hola! I'm back, everyone, but I'm feeling really overwhelmed playing catch up...

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Even I have to come out of hiding for this one.

Nice catch Iris.

I can assure you that he didn't skip when I saw him in Lexington.
