R.I.P.

Kevin DuBrow, lead singer for Quiet Riot, passed away this past Sunday in his home in Las Vegas. Cause of death is still unknown at this point. He was only 52. It's kind of surreal to know he's gone when I just saw him in concert barely a month ago.

And while I'm not a fan of Hawthorn Heights it's still a shame to say they also suffered a loss this weekend. Guitarist Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep on the tour bus on Saturday in Washington D.C. Cause of death is unknown in this case also but fellow bandmates/friends say "...with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out of respect to Casey and his family, don’t contribute or succumb to any gossip you may hear." He was only 26.

Rest in peace, guys.

I can't remember what hit song Hawthorne Heights did, off-hand, but I remember that I didn't really like it. Still, how sad is it for them to lose their bandmember so young? And to have to find him on the bus? Yikes.

Young people sometimes just drop dead for seemingly no reason. I lost a friend of mine to a brain aneurysm a few years ago like that. That's why you have to appreciate your peeps while you've got 'em.

And that's my public service announcement for the day. And to all of you, I just called to say I love you.

What maise said, basically.

A girl that my dad used to teach passed away for no reason. The day prior she'd been unconditionally accepted into Oxford University, so things were obviously pretty good, and then the next day she was just.. dead.

I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to lose someone with no previous warning or sign that it could happen.

I think I have to go talk to some people now, actually.
