The Most Horrific NIN-Related Nightmare I've Ever Had...

Straight up, y'all.

So the other night, I dreamt that Iris and I were backstage at the Aragon, alone with Trent Reznor.

No, wait...it gets worse.

His new cause du jour was preventing STDs, so he was training Iris and me to administer these injections of vaccinated foam...up NIN fans' vaginas. Then he went out in the hallway to advertise these vaccinations, holding a singing fish in his arms.

That's when I woke up...horrified.

Oh, and by the way, we got our tickets for the last Chicago show, so I guess we can quit our bitching...

I'm so pleased it all came through for you - does this also mean you don't have to wait in some tedious pre-sale line for, like, an HOUR like we did?

No, no, our local radio station graciously held a presale, with no technical difficulties.

why don't you write about where the money went for the Eric Fund? Why the donations are not tax deductable and why NIN did not report this before asking for donations? Also transplants are between $120,000 - $280,000 not one million dollars. Why is the Eric money going through the Tim Storey Foundation when he is a Bev. Hills millionaire TELEVANGELIST?

The people who keep harping on the Eric being a PR stunt thing are being really harsh and more likely are just trying to 'get back' at TR any way they can for some perceived misdemeanour as opposed to actually caring about the situation in my opinion.

To my mind it was all about Eric being unable to get health insurance because of a pre-existing medical condition and trying to change the whole health care system - you NEED PR for that, so somebody just GIVING the money to Eric wouldn't have helped anybody else - wouldn't that have been more selfish?

Ah, and this is precisely why we had no comments allowed on the previous Eric De La Cruz thread. Dude, the guy has passed away, and is family is devastated. The money went to Eric's medical expenses, and if there was anything left over, I'm sure it went to the LifeGiver Project, as that's the organization Eric's supporters are raising funds now. If you donated $10 to help Eric, then that's what...a couple of Starbucks drinks you've sacrificed to improve your karma? If you gave more to meet Trent and the band, then I'm sure you got your money's worth. If you didn't give, then you didn't lose a thing. Okay, can we let it rest now?

Wow - just come back from the Sonisphere festival which was 'very metal' but Trent played a particularly low-key set including Lights In the Sky - Something I Can Never Have - The Way Out is Through - Gone,Still - The Downward Spiral - Frail / Wretched - Hurt. In fact the only 'heavy' one was Wish - I thought a bottling would ensue - BUT to their credit the only negative thing I heard around me was someone asking if this was a fucking piano concert. I think after two days of WOOAGGH people were kind of in the mood for mellow! BUT on the negative front for some bizarre reason he finished 10 mins early - WTF we had more Limp Biscuit and I had SUFFERED with tonsilitis for this

Wait, Limp Bizkit is still in existence?

Unfortunately yes, we were repelled away from the main stage by their - just - annoyance - even this kind of scratching noise they came on to was just meant to irritate! We went to the bar even though pretty much most of us weren't drinking alcohol!

Other bands that I loved were Alice in Chains, Killing Joke (what I saw because of a lack of coaches fuck-up in the local town), Lamb of God, Mastodon, Anthrax, Heaven & Hell (or Black Sabbath by any other name) hmm Machine Head didn't do much for me as although Davidian has nice memories their songs seem samey somehow and there was an overload of 'wooagh' bands on the Sunday which is why NIN seemed a nice change to me - I was also sick of being told how much I 'fucking rocked' - in fact I would have quite enjoyed being told I sucked at the time (I'm sure some anonymi can do me the honours in a while)
